Trip Q & A

When is the Trip?
The trip will take place starting Friday, October 16th. We'll return on Wednesday, October 21st.

Where is the Band & Guard Going?
The Decatur Central Band & Guard will travel to Orlando, Florida, October 16–21, 2026, for several days at Walt Disney World and a special performance at Disney Springs.

Are They Performing?
The group is scheduled to perform on Monday, October 19 at 11:30 AM on the Waterside Stage at Disney Springs. Students will perform a musical set of at least 15 minutes. Students who participate in both Color Guard and Band will perform on their instrument, while Guard students who do not currently play an instrument will be asked to learn and perform percussion parts.
Important Pre-Trip Dates
All Students attending the trip are required to attend a mandatory final pre-trip meeting on October 3 at 6:30 PM, along with at least one adult representative per student.
Two additional rehearsals are scheduled specifically for Disney Trip participants

Additional Information about Chaperone responsibilities will be shared closer to departure.
Departure and Return
The current departure plan is October 16, with a 10:15 AM call time and 11:00 AM departure.
The current return plan is October 21, with an estimated arrival back at DCHS at 6:00 PM.
Departure and return times are subject to change as final travel details are confirmed.
